24-Year-Old Aspiring Rapper Assaults 8-Year-Old Girl with Beer Bottle for ‘Getting in His Way’

Shocking Incident: An Aspiring Rapper Attacks an Eight-Year-Old Girl

In a deeply troubling episode, Nichalas San Souci, a 24-year-old aspiring rapper, is facing serious legal consequences following a violent attack on an eight-year-old girl in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incident took place on the evening of April 25, while the girl was dining with her family at Saggios Italian restaurant.

The Attack

According to court records obtained by local news outlet KOAT7, the young victim sustained severe injuries when San Souci smashed a beer bottle over her head and slashed her neck. This brutal act left her requiring 19 stitches at a local hospital but, thankfully, her injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.

The girl’s father, Britton Rose, expressed his utter disbelief over the violent attack. “I mean, no one would ever anticipate something like that happening to a little girl going out for dinner with her family,” he shared with WIFR. The incident was not just shocking for the family; it has sent ripples of concern through the community, echoing fears of rising violence and unpredictability in public spaces.

Legal Proceedings

After the incident, San Souci was promptly arrested and booked on April 26, facing multiple charges including child abuse resulting in reckless bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—the latter pertained to an alleged attack on the girl’s father with a pocket knife during the same disturbance. Metropolitan Detention Center records confirm these charges, indicating a pattern of violent behavior.

San Souci entered a not guilty plea in his court appearance, reportedly claiming that he attacked the girl because “she got in my way.” However, Rose contends that his daughter did nothing to provoke such a heinous assault, underlining his disbelief at the brutality of the situation.

The Family’s Perspective

The impact of this attack on the young girl and her family has been devastating. According to Rose, his daughter left the hospital with a significant goose egg on the back of her head from where the bottle shattered. “We’re extremely lucky that our daughter wasn’t hurt any worse than she was or even killed,” he reflected, expressing the fear that her injuries could have been far more severe.

Court documents referenced the extreme nature of San Souci’s actions, stating that “this behavior is so extreme and beyond the norms of civil conduct that conditions of release are inappropriate for this defendant.” If convicted, he could face a minimum of 25 years in prison, and he is currently being held without bond.

San Souci’s Background

Interestingly, San Souci is not just a perpetrator; he is also an aspiring artist in the music industry. Known as San Souci, he has released a series of tracks, with his most recent being “Get Lifted” in March 2025. His SoundCloud profile boasts 33 tracks and a modest following of 62 fans. In his bio, he cryptically describes himself as “hailing from in your hallucinations, United States,” showcasing an abstract persona that contrasts sharply with the violent reality of his actions.

This incident highlights not only individual failure but also broader societal issues regarding public safety, mental health, and the alarming normalization of violence. As the community processes the emotional aftermath, the legal proceedings against Nichalas San Souci will serve as a litmus test for accountability in increasingly unpredictable times.
